FAQ
What is this Switzerland’s best winter camp?
We help to enhance students’ learning and personal development in a fun and inspiring way. We designed a signature programme in which we combine great outdoor activities and excursions with fun team challenges and leadership workshops. Students learn by doing and are accompanied by a unique combination of senior trainers, industry experts, boarding staff and guides who facilitate a safe and constructive learning environment.
How do students learn?
Experience shows that students learn best when they are happy, feel safe and can apply the skills in a practical setting. Our programme is designed in such a way that students develop leadership skills through activities like expeditions, trips, games as well as evening programmes and various outdoor challenges. Throughout fun-filled workshops, students learn several techniques that can be applied during all camp activities. Workshops are highly interactive and are given by industry and educational experts involving dynamic presentations, games, evaluations and personal action plans. Senior trainers work with students around the clock to give feedback on the things learned and how to apply the learning outcomes during the camp activities.
Are all the activities safe?
Yes, your child’s safety is our highest priority. We have qualified and professional instructors and teachers for all activities who are local and familiar with the area. Details of risk assessments for activities can be shared with parents upon request.
What are the nationalities of students who attend the camp?
Our camp is a genuine international experience and we pride ourselves in welcoming nationalities from around the world.
What language is spoken at camp?
The main language spoken at camp is English. All trainers are fluent in English and the majority of our staff also speak other languages including German and French.
What are the rooms like and how are rooms allocated?
Students share a spacious room with one or two other students. Rooms are allocated based on gender and age. Care is taken to house students with those from different nationalities to enhance their international experience. We also cater for preferences to share a room with a friend or relative.
How will my child get to camp?
You can make your own arrangements to get to our campus which is based in Château d’Oex. If preferred, we can arrange to meet your child at Geneva or Zurich airport or train station. Staff will be easily identifiable and this information will be included in the welcome pack. Staff collecting younger students travelling as unaccompanied minors will require a letter signed by the Winter Camp director and parents informing airport staff that they have permission to collect the student.
Can we meet in person to get more information about the camp?
Yes, we are happy to meet in one of the cities we visit. Just reach out by chat in the bottom right corner or fill out the contact form here to arrange a meeting. Alternatively, we can schedule a Skype, Zoom or call anytime convenient for you. You may schedule a call directly via this link.
